About POPP

This 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization was founded in 2012 by Constance Flemming and Dr. Ebony Bowers, Positive Opportunities for Pageant Preparation (POPP) provides grants for individuals that are low-income and/or minorities of all ages and gender identities, that cannot afford pageant competition necessities. 

Meet Our Board Members

​Eligibility

1. The competitor must display a desire to compete in pageantry.​​

2. The competitor or the child competing must have a financial need that prevents you or your child from entering a pageant competition of any kind.  Documentation of said need should be provide via paystub. 

3. Must complete the POPP Information and the Income Verification form

4. Attach one current copy of your paystub and must tell us your pay schedule

​5. Additional considerations will be given to the following applicants if:
     A. You have experienced life events which have caused you to be in the foster care                         system
     B. You are differently abled and need accommodations please provide the following                     verification of these specific needs:​ 

• Statement on letterhead from a Human Service Professional (Department of   Social Services/Social Worker or Lawyer),  or
•  Court documents

All grant awards will depend on the amount of donations available at the time of request.

​Grant Request Items 

1. Wardrobe: (Pageant Dress/Tuxedo, Opening Number, Interview Suit, Sports Wear, Bathing Suit/Fitness wear, or Costume)
2. Clothing Accessories: (Earrings, Dress Shoes, Panty Hoses, Cuff Links, Cummerbunds, Ties, etc.)
3. Pageant Entry Fee: (Local, State, or National titles can be covered)
4. Ad Page Requirement
5. Lodging cost during the competition (incidentals such as room service, movies, and any extras cost not included)

​Increase Your Consideration

1. Every complete application will be considered.
2. Please send the application at least thirty (30) days before the scheduled competition deadline(s).

​If You Are Awarded the POPP Grant

Do the following.

1. To write a handwritten "Thank You" note to the POPP Committee at the address listed below.
2. To promote POPP whenever and wherever you can. For example if your application has a sponsorship line please add POPP as either your main sponsor or one of your sponsors. 
3. Only apply for funding twice during a competition year, for example August 1st to July 31st.
